Attendees and presenters include John and Sherry of Young House Love, Centsational Girl, Thrifty Decor Chick, Ana White, and about a million other amazing bloggers (okay, about 250 of them).
Yep. And then there's me.
When I started ten months ago, I was so gung ho. I thought, "I love blogs! I love learning DIY! Therefore, it would be great to be a DIY blogger!"
Alas, it is not that simple.
What I have learned (from following the best of the best) is that being a blogger does not mean just slapping up a cute logo and sharing your thoughts and skills with an instant captive audience.
Great bloggers are:
- Writers
- Photographers
- Business men/women
- PR experts
- Graphic designers
- Technology wizards
- Oh yeah, and that other small job of actually working on DIY/craft/decor projects and documenting them.
I'm heading to this conference with butterflies in my stomach and a goal in my heart. That is - figure out what I want all of "this" to be. Will it be a hobby? Will it be a career? Will I get reinvigorated to get moving on this blog? Or will I be satisfied to work on projects at home and be an avid DIY blog follower?
I'm anxious to find out. But most of all, I am excited to be amongst the amazing people whom I have been following online for several years now. AND I get to go to hands-on sessions to learn more skills, IN PERSON, from these awesome bloggers.
How cool is that?!
Just start doing what your doing. The blog seems to take you on the adventure! Good Luck!
